This Grayson eatery had good ratings so I thought I would quench my hankering for Indian Food by paying this eatery a visit. Mind you this place is nothing fancy at all.  It's truly a mom and pop (family) operation that serves good authentic Indian foods.   The average price for meals (all separate entrees; no combo plates) range from $10.00 to $15.00.  The bulk of their business is catering (churches, weddings and other special events).  So, it may seem empty when you arrive but they are in the kitchen preparing foods for their catering business.  Lisa (owner) served me today. She was very pleasant and wanted to make sure my food was to my liking.   It was.  She also gave me a sample of their famous plantain chips .... Honestly, the best I've everrrr eaten!

I ordered vegetable curry. It comes alone.  The rice and the naan were side orders.  All were delicious!   I would advise if you like just a little kick in your food order the spice level at 4 or 5.   Their spice level is from   1 to 10 .    Great little hole in the wall!  I'll be back!

I've dined at Kerala Kitchen a few times over the past year. I personally hold Indian restaurants to a higher standard because so many of them are great restaurants. To me, an average Indian restaurant is a good restaurant. Kerala Kitchen is just fine, so below average.

Kerala Kitchen features a large and diverse menu. So far, I have tried the goat biryani, beef curry, goat curry, lamb curry, chili chicken, and fish tikka masala. Good luck figuring out the cost of your meal. They have increased prices multiple times without printing new menus, electing instead to hand-correct the increased prices. This wouldn't even be a problem if they used masking tape and wrote the new price on top, but nope. You also don't get an itemized receipt or any kind of receipt, so there's that.

First major issue with the restaurant - all curry comes by itself. You have to pay extra for rice. Even the fanciest basmati rice is still rice. This doesn't represent high food cost. Given that every other Indian restaurant that I've been to includes rice in the price, it just seems especially cheap and lame to charge extra for it.

Next major issue - I have never been given good naan at this restaurant. Every time that I've ordered naan, it has always been incredibly old and stale. I don't necessarily need fresh out of the oven deliciousness, but I shouldn't be given crap.

As another diner said, most food here has a terrific amount of heat, but not much substance behind that heat. With the beef curry, goat curry, and lamb curry, I enjoyed my 8/10 spiciness, but I couldn't taste any other flavors. The goat biryani was a winner at 10/10 spiciness, and the fish tikka masala was similarly tasty at 8/10 spiciness. The chili chicken was, well, the worst that I've ever had.

Old naan should only be a character in Game of Thrones. Don't serve it to your customers. I'll probably return to Kerala Kitchen a few more times because Snellville has a pretty awful food scene. The tikka masala and the biryani are pretty good dishes here. Nothing else here could be described as "pretty good."

I was in the area and in search of a good Indian restaurant. After seeing the reviews and pictures on Yelp, I knew I was in the right place. The restaurant is in a plaza next to a gas station and little Caesar's so parking is plentiful.

It took a few minutes before someone appeared from the back to take orders. This gave me some time to look over the menu. The menu board consists of posted pictures with dish names and prices. The menu ranges from a variety of curries and biryanis to stews and appetizers like chicken 65 and samosas. I ordered the goat biryani ($13) and chicken curry made extra spicy ($9)I was asked if I wanted to add naan or rice, which I assumed was included but it ran me $5 for plain rice.

After paying I sat and waited at one of the tables. This restaurant appears to be more of your takeout type of place rather than dine in. It took about 25 minutes for my food to be prepared and I was on my way. Overall, I thought the food was just ok. The curry was extra spicy as I requested but the flavor wasn't there. The goat biryani tasted as if it were rewarmed in the microwave (which I kept hearing go off during my visit) and the meat was slightly on the tougher side. For what I paid and the wait time, I really hoped to enjoy my food much more.

While I was at my parent's house in Dacula in the morning, I was craving Indian food. It was almost 1 pm and I used Yelp to find the closest Indian restaurant.  I didn't want to head towards Buford because it'll be out of my way. Therefore, I settled for Kerala Kitchen.

I never had Kerala style Indian food before. I have a handful of Mallu friends too! One of my best friends is from Thiruvananthapuram and the other is from Kochi.

Calling in advance so I could pick up the food on the way home, I ordered Mysore masala dosa, samosas, dal curry, and naan. I was told food will be ready in 30 minutes. Fine with me.

Kerala Kitchen is located behind a gas station in Lawrenceville near Webb Ginn shopping center. It is a small mom and pop store. No one was there when I arrived. I rang the bell and they have more order already and was bringing to the front.

The female said I must love Indian food because of what I ordered. Definitely! I told her I also watched Malayalam movies haha. I always have to throw in Indian fun facts about me when I meet Indians.

When I got home, I couldn't wait to eat the food! It was near 2 pm already. The samosa is crunchy and delicious, just the way I like. I felt the mint chutney was a little salty but the tamarind chutney is one of the best I've had. It's thicker than most I've come across.

Next is the Mysore masala dosa. It's so long and still warm. Every type of masala dosas I've ordered always come with sambar and coconut chutney. The sambar is flavorful and yummy. Coconut chutney wasn't bad. I love coconut but don't care for it as a sauce for masala dosa. Most of the time when I eat masala dosa, I always eat it plain.

I'm so full at this moment but wanted to taste the dal curry and naan. The naan is cut up and is fluffy with the right consistency of fluffiness. The dal curry is spice right and delicious.

Definitely will come back and try more food from the Kerala area next time.

Worst place I have ever ate Indian food.  They are serving frozen naan (bread) and so chewy.   Once chicken with naan rice and water costed 17$.   Ridiculous    Never ever again.
